The Glen

Glenbeg (Irish for "The Small Glen") - the place where I spent my first few years. This part of the Beara Peninsula gets hit worst by the prevailing South Westerly winds of the Atlantic, bringing the moisture from the ocean, which turns to rain/mist as soon as it hits the mountains and starts to rise. The glen was ten times worse; had its own weather system due to the mountains surrounding it almost completely. More often than not, the wind whirled around in a circle beneath a giant rain cloud that had nowhere to drift.
